Sturdy robust and built for endurance. The Schnauzer has an active mind, is receptive to firm training and slightly suspicious of strangers. The height and length is almost square, the head long and strong with arched bushy eyebrows. The coat is harsh and wiry with a softer undercoat. Needs a good deal of stripping and grooming to keep him tidy.
Colour is Pepper and Salt and pure black.
