Leonine in appearance with a proud bearing. The scowl and blue/black tongue and mouth, lack of angulation and stilted movement are features of this breed. A little independent and reserved by nature being defensive rather than aggressive.The short eared are almost hidden in the huge coat and the tail is well covered in hair and carried over the back in a curl. The coat is either rough or smooth and needs thorough grooming.
Colours are whole coloured black, red,fawn, blue, cream or white.
