Compact, happy and volatile describes the 'Welsh'. An intelligent somewhat headstrong type that needs firm handling. Looks like a miniature Airedale, ears are short and 'v' shaped carried dropped and forward. Feet are small and catlike tail is still docked and carrier high. The coat is rough, hard and thick.
Colours are black and tan or black, grizzle and tan.
