This area is a prickly subject with most people! Of course ALL dogs are supposed to be bred from wolves of different types but the Wolf-Hybrid today is not looked at with favour in most civilised countries yet the origional Husky and Malamute were oftain bred back to wolves by the natives. You will find the Hybrids are given 'other' names so they can be 'worked' in obedience and trial classes. The Kennel Club of Great Britain will not register Wolf-Hybrids. Yet it is known that at least a few of these 'dogs' are worked in Agility and other sports with some success. Temperament too need not be a problem, if you have ever met a Sarloose Wolfhund on the Continent you will have seen how calm they are, yet all have wolf within four generations.
Colour - any wolf colour, usually grey with sable or brown sable. solid colours are seen.
No Wolf-Hybrid can be registered with the KC.
He may be shown in the Irish Republic under FCI Rules if registered with the FCI as a breed.
