Bred all over the Southeastern tier of states from Texus to the East Coast. Used as a huntaway dog for sheep, cattle or hogs. It is also used successfully for hunting racoons and squirrels. Is affectionate trainable dog to his master, but an aggressive guard. The body and head shape, the Catahoula has the look of a Dalmation. The coat is short and close.
Colour is all shades of yellow, red, chocolate & blue with liver spots, speckles & patches. Solids in all colours and merle.

they may be shown only at exemption shows in the NON-PEDIGREE CLASSES.
