A member of the sighthound family, that hunts be sight not scent, the Saluki is bred as a pack animal for speed and endurance. This breed needs exercise and safe free running as he is not naturally obedient, though this is a very intelligent dog. Good with children and other breeds. Somewhat reserved with strangers. The fur is silky to the touch, normally short throughout the body, and have no undercoat. The ears, long tail and legs are feathered, except in the smooth varieties. There are two varieties, feathered and smooth.
