This must be 'THE' most ancient breed! Seen on wall paintings as far back as 4000BC. Graceful yet powerful with clean cut lines the Pharaoh hunts by sight and scent. His lean body should have a tuck up, but this should not be as excessive as the Greyhound or Whippet, and he is slightly longer than he is tall. His tail is long and carried high when in action. the coat is short and glossy, from fine to slightly harsh but without feathering, ears ar large and prick, eyes should be amber and oval.
Colours are medium to dark tan, rich tan with white tip on the tail, white on the toes and chest.
May have a slim white blaze on the face any other white, marking is a fault.
