Said to be related to the old and now extinct Southern Hounds, Talbots and St Huberts of the Ardennes, the foxhound were bred to be faster, seldom used as companion or house dog in the UK, he is more usually kept in a pack in a hunt kennel. The coat is short and smooth.
Colour is any hound colour but usually white and tan with black markings,
