The Labrador should always be quiet without vice, a gentleman among dogs. He should never show any aggression towards other animals or humans, he is naturally gregarious. The Labrador is patient,gentle and long-suffering, eager to please, naturally exuberant and always affectionate. While being broad and deep chested he should always retain his agility. The coat is top coat is hard, short and dense with no curl or wave, the undercoat should be very dense and soft.
There are three colours - black, yellow and chocolate.
