A steady, trainable, docile breed that seaks the attention of his master. Very keen worker on any type of game with a very good nose. The eyes are dark, the ears drop, flat to the head and rounded at the tip. He should give the impression of sturdiness, being robust and muscular. Some have the tail is feathered and docked like the Short haired pointer, others are seen with full tail. The hair is about 2" long all over, but short on the forelegs and face. Feathering occurs on the ears, tail and legs.
Colours are dark to medium chestnut, with or without flecking or roan.
