A robust, medium sized hunt-point-retriever that has a gentle manner and protective instinct like it's smooth coated counterpart. It too needs a lot of exercise. The main difference is the wire coat, this is coarse, hard with no shine, some 3-4 cms long and he has a bearded chin. Loves to work in difficult terrain.
Colour is always russet-gold
