Also known as the Bichon Havanais or 'Habarino' of ;Havana Silk dog', these small companions came for Cuba where it is the national dog. The Havanese is a lively animal and likes boisterous play, they still have a herding instinct from their Spanish Ancestors. This is an affectionate and intelligent breed and enjoys being the centre of the family circle but does not expect to rule the roost. He is small sturdy, slightly longer in the body than high at the withers. Their coat is profuse, non shedding and has a lacy look, needing no trimming except the feet. The tail is carried over the back.
Colours all manor of colours are allowed from white through to black, blue, silver and chocolate.

there are some problems with the eyes -people should only buy from eye tested parents.
