The direct descendant of the old working terrier of the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, the Cairn is of rugged appearance, workmanlike and with a fearless and happy nature. The weatherproof coat will need tidying to remove dead hair and the tail is undocked.
Colours are cream, wheaten, red, grey or nearly black, or brindling on all those colours.
