Medium sized, with short sturdy legs, long body and a tail like a fox's brush. The head is like the Pembroke except is not so fine in the fore face. Ears are larger and carried a bit wide. The forelegs should be slightly bowed. The coat is of medium length or short, both should have undercoat.
Colours are any, with or without white markings, white should not predominate.
