A medium-sized hunt-point-retrieve gundog with light eyes from Germany. He is powerful alert and has stamina to burn. Somewhat headstrong he takes some handling but when mastered, excels. as many German gundogs has a protective nature. The coat is short smooth and sleek. There is also a long coated variety but even this has a thin coat but has feathering and a tail.
Colours are shades of silver, mouse or roe grey, usually blending to lighter shades on the head and ears.
