FCI has changed the name of this breed to Romaga Water Dog, Said to have existed in Etruscan times in the marches of Romagna in North Italy, he is used to hunt water fowl but lately more a truffle hunter. This is a sensible, happy dog, making a good companion. Recognised by the Italian KC in 1991 and brought to the UK in 1997. The coat is non-shedding but requires clipping at least once a year and constant attention for the show ring.
Colours are solid brown of any shade, solid orange, off white. White with brown or orange marking, brown roan.
Still not recognised by the KC. and as such can only be shown in Non pdigree classes at Exemption shows or obedience or Agility trials, likely classification is Gundog.
This breed is shown in Eire - Ireland in the Gundog Group, where he has Green Stars at some shows,
