A rugged, powerful, medium sized breed with webbed feet and a short, dense, oily coat that tends to wave. Usually a one man dog, he becomes attached to his owner and family. Though a working gundog , he will be a guard and companion with lots of energy and enough intelligence to get himself in trouble is not trained well! The coat needs little grooming and no special attention and should be 4cms (1½") long.
Colour range from dark brown to a red gold or a dead grass, straw or bracken.
